Short Biography of Joseph

Joseph Federico was born and raised in New Jersey.  He holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU).

Joe serves as the Vice President and Director of Operations at NJMET, a Clifton, New Jersey-based company that provides comprehensive electronic component testing services in its 32,000 square-foot facility and at branch offices in the United States and throughout the world.

Joseph Federico has worked for NJMET since 1978 and has been directly involved in many of the company’s innovative projects. In the 1980s, Joseph Federico set up a military testing department that allowed NJMET to provide state of the art services for the Strategic Defense Initiative, also known as the “Star Wars” program. This department has gone on to ensure the reliability of many electronic components for the military, aerospace, automotive, and space design industries.

Joseph Federico has worked closely with clients including The Boeing Company, Honeywell International Inc., and British Aerospace in testing critical components.  NJMET continued to grow during the 1990s, working with such large organizations as the United States Department of Defense, the Federal Communications Commission, and NASA, among others.  Joseph Federico and his fellow professionals at NJMET also created a screening and qualification program that is still used for programs such as Northrop Grumman’s B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber, the Boeing B-52 Stratofortress, NASA’s Space Shuttle, and Raytheon’s MIM-104 Patriot Missile.

Additionally, Joseph Federico has led NJMET into a new arena with an innovative counterfeit detection program, dubbed Mission Imposter®.

Joseph recently spoke about proper testing for counterfeit electronics at the DMSMS and Standardization conference in Hollywood, Florida.

Joseph Federico and NJMET are also involved in charitable giving.  NJMET announced in September 2010 that a portion of its 2010 profits would be used to help victims of the recent flooding in Pakistan.
